In
September 2005, a team of Swedish techdivers reached Narvik to dive on
the different Destroyers that was sunk during the battle in 1940. Moste
of the wrecks are resting at a depts between 25-15MSW, but there are also
two wrecks that are deeper. George Thiele is starting from above the surface,
and goes down to about 52MSW, and Erich Giese is resting at 72MSW. The
deeper wrecks requires more advanced diving, where you use Helium as part
of your breathing gas.
Before
the dive. On the back, 17% Oxygene, 50% Helium, 33% Nitrogen. On the front,
stagebottle with the same gas as the back, and 50% Oxygene, 25% Helium
and 25% Nitrogen for decompression. Not showing on the picture is the
100% Oxygene.
