This fort was located
not far from the front-line. Therefore it was constant fire from the Germans.
The fort was not armed with any artillery but was mainly used as a garrison
and a hospital. At the end of the war the French forces started to dig
tunnels under the fort, out to so called "pamards" (see more
details under diary, day 2). These tunnels are today in very bad condition
and I do not recommend anyone to go inside.
