Fort Loncin, Liége
On August 12th, 1914, at 6.30pm the first shell, weighing 1900 pounds, was fired against Fort Pontisse. This was one of 12 forts that sorounded the Belgian town of Liege. Soon had all the forts surrendered to the German forces. Fort Loncin was hit by one of these shells and on these pictures you can see the damage that the shell caused.
